When you contract with M.A. Long, we’re not just engineering your project—we’re paving the way to a future relationship with you while improving the communities we live and work in. That’s why we do it right the first time. Here’s what you can expect:
We’ve been around for decades
Our company leaders have more than six decades of combined professional hands-on construction experience. And that’s not counting our highly trained staff, some of who have been with us for more than 20 years. We build on this foundation every day, and won’t accept any project unless we’re confident we can deliver superior results.
Personalized service
Just because we take on big jobs doesn’t mean you’ll have to deal with big company middlemen. So welcome to the family. You’ll be working directly with Mike, Michelle, Dustin, Scott, and other top members of our team from start to finish—both in the office and on your job site.
Full engagement and commitment to your project
You’re going to get the whole company—and its experience—involved in your project. We won’t just send the minimum number of workers we need on site to get a paycheck. We’ll run your job site as if we are building your project for ourselves.
Daily communication
You’re making a big investment in us, so we make a big investment in your satisfaction and peace of mind. We’ll touch base with you daily to make sure you’re fully informed of our progress at every stage.
Efficiency, value engineering, and respect for your bottom line
We take a proactive approach to each project, looking for ways to improve on everything from design to workflow and safety. If we can find a way to save you money, we’ll tell you about it and pass the savings along.
In-house expertise and equipment
We have a vast array of in-house tradesmen, and maintain a high level of professionalism by doing most of your work ourselves. The few sub-contractors we use are all people with standards high enough to match our own, all of whom we’ve known and trusted for many years. We also maintain the vast majority of our own equipment, ensuring that it’s tuned up and ready to go at a moment’s notice.
Innovative problem solving
Every job presents unique challenges, from unexpected fixtures underground to tight, confined spaces. We frequently head off unforeseen challenges with detailed planning and the benefit of experience, but even when something new crops up we have the professional know-how to keep your job moving.
One of the strongest and most integrated teams in the business
In an industry known for high turnover, many of the foremen, laborers and operators who will work on your job have been with us for more than a decade. We have multiple in-house trades and our diverse, experienced team is hard-working and loyal—with one of the highest morale rates in the region.
An industry-leading safety record
Our commitment to jobsite and worker safety routinely exceeds state and federal regulations. Visit our Safety page for more details.
Community and environmental responsibility
We keep our jobsites safe and clean, respecting adjacent properties and the environment alike.
And one more thing—we don’t like to mess with change orders or punch lists. So we strive from day one to deliver the results you want, on time and on (or under) budget. We do this through a proven bidding process, upfront communication with our clients, extensive planning and strategy, precise attention to detail, and rooted value engineering practices.
